New Union Cambridge
This modern new build in East Cambridge was snapped up by two newly wedded New York transplants that were taken with the neighborhood. We were tasked to curate a stylish and functional home with an emphasis on sustainably sourced and ecologically responsible elements. The first floor serves as the main living, dining, and flexible work space. The dining table and desk were provided by makers whose mission is founded on working with sustainable materials. We replaced a series of floating shelves in the kitchen with upper cabinets to create additional storage and visual harmony.
On the second floor, we kept the primary bedroom simple and serene with soft blue, warm accents, and locally sourced vintage teak headboard. An adjacent home office space features an adjustable height desk and vintage storage unit for staying organized. We transformed the basement level into a cozy media and guest room where custom built-in cabinetry incorporates books, media, and a window seat. Finally, all bathrooms received an update with new wallpaper and fixtures.
